Vivi & Leo Engagement Session – Birmingham, MI Photography

Every shoot I do I really try to keep my eyes open for great accessories, I guess you could call them that, to use In my photos. So we are walking along and there it is – one vintage barbeque. Honestly, It was a little gross to handle but I got it in position and it looked great! Honestly, it was also blue and I had to fix that in PS. Honestly, could you use honestly a little less.:) But still clearly its a great shot. My fav shot. I just wonder what the owner thought when he found his barbeque 50 feet away against the wall…I like to keep people guessing:) Leo I know you still have to comes to term with this image but I think it will grow on you!

This ended up being Vivi and Leos favorite – we called it her Marilyn Monroe shot.

Wabeek Country Club – Andrew & Hanit – Wedding Photography

Hanit & Andrew made their vows in the late summer of of 2009. They had one of my most elegant weddings of the summer. Andrew is an amazing glassblowing artist whose work sells all over the country. His work is beautiful: http://www.axiomglass.com/ if you are interested. You could tell he had his hand in the design of the whole event because it turned out beautifully.

The design of the Ceremony was just gorgeous. I love the branches and delicate white flowers. Such a beautiful accent as Hanit Processed.

West Bloomfield Wedding Photography – Lauren & Sean

I photographed Lauren & Seans wedding at the end of July. They had a beautiful day and held their ceremony and Reception at Knollwood CC in West Bloomfield. DeeDee Hoffman the wedding coordinator scheduled the Ceremony for right at sunset and the light was beautiful. I love the shtos of their parents and the expression on their faces during the beggining of the ceremony. I love the shot of their chuppa as well – I think it looks like the garden of eden. Oh and the creme brulle was just amazing – if you wondering why you didn't get any you may have to blame me. It made it into this collection for its sheer tastiness. Here are a few of my favorites starting with the rings and invitation.

This was the gorgeous light I was talking about. What a great time for a ceremony.

I like this shot of the chuppa just because of the way the trees move. I photographed the scene off the reflection of a window. The screen and distortation of the glass created the movement.

On of the most intense moments during the day. Sean and Lauren both promised themselves to each other before the ceremony and this right after Sean teared up. I'm an emotional guy to so I understand.

Love the just natural expression here before we took a few photographs of the wedding party.

While this photograph is not the typical I like it because Lauren and Sean had a very formal wedding. I see this a throw back to the regalness of ages past blending with the new.

During the make up session – I love this shot. Lauren is just beautiful.

The Shoes – Love the simple shapes that make this shot work.

I grabbed this gorgeous shot while lauren was having her make up done. Don't ask me how I got above her like this. Long story.

Phuket Thailand – Trisara Resort – Pnang Nga Bay -

From Viva Las Vegas heading out to Fiji to do a Trash the Dress bridal shoot I wanted to give a little taste of one of the highlight weddings of my spring. Sharyn & Peter were married in Phuket Thailand in Late April and their weddng was gorgeous. Trisara Resort is one of the premiere resorts on the whole Island. Their ceremony started right on the beach and lead to the reception held on one of Trisaras 4000 square foot residences. Two days after the wedding Sharyn Peter and I took a longtail boat out to Pnang Nga Bay to do a day after shoot. All of it was like a fantasy for me and I’m sure Sharyn and Peter felt the same. Detroit Tigers

Monday this week was Opening Day for the Detroit Tigers! It was exciting as it was depressing to seem them loose. They had a great game until the 10th inning when The BlueJays scored twice to win 5 – 3. The experience wasn’t all fun for me though. I woke up at 415 am to do a time lapse for Anheuser Busch of the stadium filling up with people. I shot for about 10 hours and took 1500 pictures of the exact same thing! Pretty boring. But in the end it produces a really cool movie of the sun rising over the stadium with thousands of people eventually packing it out. You will see this in AB’s local bud commercials that will run of Tigers baseball in Detroit. You may have also heard me being interviewed on WWJ detroit radio because All the news crews wanted to know what I had been doing there since 5:30 AM. Here is a link to the video.

South Haven Wedding Photography – Michigan Bride

In the latest Michigan Bride you can see my photography as one of the featured weddings! Corin and TJ Got married and held their Reception and their Parents Lake House on Lake Michigan. They had an amazing Ceremony and The reception began as the sun was setting over the South Haven Lighthouse. Wow. To top that they had a string quartet play for the ceremony, and Marachay Band to kick of the Party, a Cover band Following them and an Acoustic band in the basement Bar. Most importantly Corin and TJ were a great match!

A couple of my previous wedding clients from about about a year ago recently gave birth to their first child. Cindy and Joseph David came back to have me photograph their newborn baby boy in Ann Arbor Michigan. He was amazingly good and it was so great to be able to see Cindy and Joseph again. Such a pleasure to see my couples happy and loving one another in Marriage. I always hope that my wedding images will encourage and remind couples of their love and commitment to one another. I don’t take credit at all for their love, but it is nice to know I get to play a part in the romance in some way.

Wow I’ve been busy lately – Hope everyone is well and enjoying the Holidays! I have been! I wanted to post about this bottle of wine I photographed last week for a local Wine merchant in town. Sod, of Tiffany’s was kind enough to actually gift me a bottle after the shoot and it was as amazing as he says. According to Sod, this wine should be rated around a 94 – which is extremely high. This is his wine of the year and I can certainly see why: amazingly smooth with rich flavors. I would recommend it to all of my clients. Enjoy!

Last Weekend I got the oppurtunity to shoot the annual Moda Fashion held in Kalamazoo MI. I was blown away by the designer Talent and of the event coordination. Kristina Moellering took charge of the show this year and she did an amazing job with the lights, coordination, planning, and communications. Best wishes to all the Models and Designers!
